The International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) is a full-service criminal justice development agency that focuses on police, forensics, corrections, and border security development. IMPORTANT: This is a pre-contract announcement and recruitment solicitation. Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have prior experience as a state, local or federal police officer; sheriff’s deputy, state trooper or highway patrol officer; or correction or detention officer employed by a police department, sheriff’s department, state police or highway patrol, federal law enforcement agency, or a state, local or federal corrections facility or jail; or forensic experience in a law enforcement capacity/agency/setting

- Applicants must be an actively serving officer, OR must be recently retired/separated from active employment 

-High proficiency in English is required

-Applicants will be required to submit to a background investigation. Some positions may require a SECRET security clearance issued by the US Government

-Some positions may require carrying a firearm in the course of duty; therefore, successful applicants for those positions must have a background history which allows him/her the ability to carry a firearm

-Prior experience working abroad and/or foreign language proficiency a plus

Online Adjunct Faculty Needed to teach
Bloodstain Pattern Analysis Courses
 

South University is currently accepting applications for Online Adjunct Faculty members to teach Bloodstain Pattern Analysis.  PhD’s or Master’s Degree with emphasis in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Public Administration or closely related area required.  At least 2 years professional experience in collecting, preserving, analyzing and interpretation of bloodstain evidence and 2 years working with crime scences and collection of evidence is preferred.

Course Description:

This course explains the underlying scientific principles involved in bloodstain pattern analysis, which helps in the reconstruction of violent crime scenes. Topics include, the general properties of blood, droplet directionality, documenting bloodstains, and dealing with the risk of blood borne pathogens.

The U.S. Department of Justice is searching for fluent English/Spanish-speaking forensic scientists.

The program, termed the International Criminal Investigations Training Assistance Program (ICITAP), works in foreign nations to further develop strong, science-based criminal investigations. The positions are generally short in duration and range from 1-3 weeks.

Description: MPRI is currently seeking highly qualified Spanish-speaking Forensic Scientists to travel to Colombia for one to three weeks to teach courses in:

            Forensic chemistry

            Blood stain analysis

            Forensic evidence collection

            Voice analysis

            Crime scene management

            Tool mark/firearms

            Firearms

The training is part of the International Criminal Investigations Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) within the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. This exciting and unique program focuses on providing high-quality forensic training to countries working to upgrade their forensic capabilities.

Qualifications: Qualified individuals will have an extensive background in forensic science, with knowledge of a broad range of basic and advanced forensic science applications and techniques including forensic disciplines. The successful candidate must posses at least a B.S. in the biological sciences, Ph.D or M.D. preferred. Applicants must have 7 or more years of experience as an active forensic scientist in one of the above listed forensic disciplines.
