MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
IABPA
Constitution and Bylaws (2005)
The membership of the IABPA
consists of individuals from a variety of backgrounds. The current
membership has individuals working in the following fields; forensic
serology and DNA testing, medical-legal death investigation, law
enforcement, crime scene investigations and private consulting.
Members of the IABPA are required
to promote the highest standards of the science of Bloodstain Pattern
Interpretation and maintain professionalism within the discipline by:
· Rendering
technically correct statements in all written or oral reports,
testimony, public addresses and publications,
· Maintaining
objectivity and act in an impartial manner during all investigations,
and
· Continuing
to attend educational/training programs related to the science.
THE IABPA CURRENTLY HAS A WORLDWIDE
MEMBERSHIP
FROM VARIOUS SCIENTIFIC AND LAW ENFORCEMENT BACKGROUNDS
OF APPROXIMATELY

There are four classes of
membership within the IABPA:
Associate Member - A member
who has NOT completed a forty (40) hour basic bloodstain pattern
analysis course but who desires to become a member of the IABPA for
general interests.
Associate Membership Application form
Provisional Member- A member who has completed a forty (40)
hour basic bloodstain pattern analysis course (content defined by IABPA
Education Committee guidelines) and who has been recommended by a Full
Member.

Basic Course

Full
Member* - A member who has held the position of Provisional
Member for a least one year, and who has been recommended, based upon
efforts in the field of study of bloodstain pattern analysis.

APPLICATION AND PROMOTIONS IS AUGUST 1, 2008
Distinguished Member - A member who has rendered a significant
service to the discipline and/or the Association and who has been
awarded the designation by his peers.
NOTICE TO ALL APPLICANTS AND
MEMBERS: Please be advised that information contained in your
membership application form is not confidential and/or privileged. Under
appropriate circumstances it can be disseminated to the appropriate
people and agencies.
The
International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts does not
provide proficiency certification. Membership in the IABPA does not
constitute, on behalf of the organization, an attestation to the ability
or proficiency of an individual member.
