Daniel Beaumont | VP Region 5 (Europe)
Dan has over twenty years’ experience as a forensic scientist. After gaining his BSc(Hons) degree in Biochemistry in 1998, Dan joined the United Kingdom Forensic Science Service (FSS) where he worked until it's closure in 2011. Dan then joined Eurofins Forensic Services (formerly LGC Forensics), the United Kingdom's largest forensics provider to the Police.
His areas of expertise cover many biological disciplines and includes blood pattern analysis at the crime scene and on items within the laboratory. As well as being a senior forensic scientist at Eurofins, Dan is the Science Lead for biology, a role which provides leadership within all biological disciplines (including BPA) with regards to process improvement, research and development and quality requirements (including the validation and accreditation of BPA to 17025 and 17020 standards).
Dan is a steering committee member of both the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI) Scene of Crime Working Group and ENFSI BPA Sub-Group. During his time with these groups, Dan has presented and held workshops at numerous ENFSI meetings on BPA and has been part of the team providing European-wide BPA collaborative exercises and proficiency trials.
Dan has been an active member of the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts (IABPA), having attended numerous European and Annual IABPA conferences where he has also presented.
