Jeff Gurvis is an independent bloodstain pattern analyst from Chicago who has his roots at the Northern Illinois Police Crime Laboratory where he served as a latent print examiner, crime scene coordinator and bloodstain pattern anlyst. He has taught several basic and advanced bloodstain classes for the FBI adn the National Forensic Academy at the University of Tennesse, as well as in service classes for Baltimore PD, Illinois State Police, Washington DC Metro, among several others. Jeff was a founding member of the Scientific Working Group on Bloodstain Pattern Analysis (SWGSTAIN) and currently is the Chair of the ASB Bloodstain Consensus Body. Jeff also serves on the Board of Directors of the International Association for Identification (IAI). He has given numerous presentations and training across the United States. He still is active in casework for both latent print examination and bloodstain pattern analysis. He is also co-founder of Visionations, who developed CrimePad, a mobile-based criminal investigation and crime scene software solution.
