Matthew Noedel has degrees in Microbiology and Medical Technology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Montana. He holds a third Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science from California State University-Sacramento. Mr. Noedel began his forensic career working as a Toxicologist for a private company in Sacramento, California in 1987. In 1990, Mr. Noedel was hired by the Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory in Tacoma, Washington where he worked as a chemist, microscopist, firearm and tool mark examiner and crime scene response expert. Mr. Noedel started his forensic consultation business “Noedel Scientific” in 2005 and currently provides training and consultation in scene reconstruction with an emphasis on shooting incidents and bloodstain pattern analysis. Mr. Noedel is a regular member and currently serves on the Ethics committee of the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts. In addition, Mr. Noedel is a Distinguished member and former journal Editor of the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners and is certified in all three categories with that organization. Mr. Noedel is a Past President of the Association for Crime Scene Reconstruction and a recipient of the Larry Olsen service award for his contributions to that organization.
